“Parents are Partners?” Please ask any parent at Orville Wright Middle School – where LAUSD fired the Principal that this community hired and loved if they feel like “partners”. Please ask anyone in Westchester if they feel that the existing board member encouraged community involvement when he voted to take away our local public high school. Ask anyone in Westchester if they feel that LAUSD has honored its commitments to iDesign – our answer to “local decision making.” What we have now ISN’T WORKING. Just like changing the schools to Magnets without actually addressing the issues inside the building – YOU CAN’T JUST SAY DIFFERENT THINGS AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO BELIEVE YOU. NO. Our kids don’t have local public schools to go to any more – and that’s on your watch Steve Zimmer. We need a change.
